Want to take the memory of your flight home? Good news: the photos and video of your flight are included, at no extra cost. You do not need to hire anything separately or bring a camera — the record of your flight in Niterói is part of the experience from start to finish.
How the images are taken
During a tandem flight, the instructor is the one who records everything. He uses a GoPro mounted on a pole in front of the harness, which widens the angle and captures you, the wing and the landscape in the same frame. That distance is what produces the shots where you can see your face, your smile and the city behind you.
Through the flight he varies the angles: a close-up at launch, a wider view showing the wing and the horizon, and shots pointing down to reveal the city and the sea below. Knowing the route by heart, he knows exactly when to aim the camera at Christ the Redeemer, at Sugarloaf or along Guanabara Bay.
On some flights we also use a 360° camera. Unlike a traditional GoPro, it captures the whole scene around you at once, and the image can then be turned in any direction. The result is that immersive effect in which the camera seems to float in the air beside you, with no pole in sight.
What is included
- Flight photos: images of the launch, the panoramic stretch over Niterói and the landing.
- Flight video: footage from the moment your feet leave the ground to the final approach.
- 360° camera on some flights, for an immersive record of the whole scene around you.
All of it is covered by the price of the flight, which starts at R$ 379. You never have to choose between "flying" and "having the images" — they come together. The full breakdown is in how much paragliding costs in Niterói.
How you receive them
Photos and video are delivered digitally, right after the flight. Nothing to print, no memory card to buy and no need to come back another day: you leave the ramp with the memory in your hand, ready to save and share.
Tips to look good in the photos
- Wear some colour: bright tones contrast well with sky and sea. See what to wear for paragliding.
- Keep your face to the horizon: looking ahead rather than down helps the launch and produces much better expressions.
- Relax your shoulders and smile: tension shows in photos; a deep breath before launch helps.
- Use sunglasses with a strap: they protect your eyes from the wind and look great.
- Enjoy the flight: the more genuinely you enjoy it, the more natural the images.
Why the instructor takes the pictures
Recording a flight while flying the wing takes experience, which is why that job belongs to the person who knows what he is doing. Our instructors are CBVL-certified and have flown the Parque da Cidade ramp for years, so they know the best moments and angles to capture the landscape.
The flight lasts 10 to 20 minutes, more than enough for a good set of photos and a complete video. And in the end the record is a bonus: the strongest memory is always the sensation of flying. The images simply help you relive the day — and prove to everyone that you did it.
